Conclusion

I hypothesized that amprolium would increase weight gain in broiler chicks.  The results of my experiment appear to support this idea.  Throughout the experiment, healthy birds fed amprolium weighed more than chicks fed identical food with no added antibiotic.  Although the rate of weight gain was almost the same in the two groups over the last four days of the experiment, at the end of the experimental period, the chicks medicated with amprolium outweighed the non-medicated chicks by about 11%.
